Have they no big screen TVs to sell?

By Libby

What cars do they drive? Do they have marble countertops? Avedon is right, you can't really excerpt Athenae's rant. It needs to be read in full, it's not long, but it's the best take I've seen on the federal bailout of Bear Stearns so far.

Will they be selling their TV's? Will they be trading the Bentley's for Hyundais? Not on your life.

Many of their brokers are being offered signing bonuses of up to $2 million by competitors, says Bloomberg. Citigroup, UBS, Morgan Stanley, Merrill lynch and others are out head hunting while JP Morgan Chase may well offer competitive bonuses to keep them. The big boys not only won't get hurt, they may get even bigger.

Is it any surprise that the other 14000 employees might be lucky to find immediate employment that doesn't involve asking "want fries with that?"

The bigger they are, the harder the little guys fall.

It leaves me sputtering futilely in anger that those responsible will not pay the price Fogg.
