A movie made by a movement

By Libby

I was about to do my weekly media bytes post but I don't want this to get lost in the links. It just arrived in my inbox and I swear I got goosebumps and almost got teary. It's a six minute trailer for The Shift. Watch it and see if you can remain unmoved by the message.

Could be moved -- except for the actual leftist agendas of all these groups. Oh, I bet there's an implication it's all Bush and Cheney's fault, too - except that Bush has the U.S. gov't spending billions on AIDS in Africa? Is that possible? That Bush actually cares about something other than oil for his lawnmower in Crawford?

Is that supposed to be cynicism, or are you just happy to be stupid. Bush has a religious agenda - no help unless you preach abstinence, and he's actually sent less than promised and has cut health programs to fund what he did send - but yes, John D. Rockefeller used to give out dimes to kids and Hitler loved dogs and small children. Bush is a great philanthropist indeed - just like you've been anywhere near Africa.

And what the fuck does "leftist" mean when it comes from a lying sack of pretentious shit like you anyway?

Has Bush also cut HOT school lunches like Reagan allegedly did? And why THE FUCK do they have to be hot? A huge bag of Doritos will get you nice and obese in the ghetto!

This movement transcends all political divides and issues of ethnicity. This is what gives me hope; I'm not alone crying out for peace, understanding and compassion.
We are all ONE race; the human race. Where our ancestors come from is of little consequence to the starving, the battered, the dying. In this movie trailer I see a lot of people who care, period. Who gives a shit about politics? I don't hear one of these people talking politics. We are talking about OUR world, OUR fellow human beings.
We have come to the place where the fence ends and now each of us must choose where to jump - business as usual or do we change?
Robert Schueller once said,"You don't have a problem to solve, you have a decision to make."
The time has come.
