Happy Inauguration Day

We did it! We survived the worst presidency of our lifetimes. Yeah for us. As the dirty effin hippies used to say, "It's a new dawn."

Videos from local DC teevee. I'm told they're doing great live coverage if you get the station. [h/t Jac]

Michele looks gorgeous. I'm watching CNN instead of CSPAN even though it's irritating because they promised to show a satelite picture from space of the crowd.

10:44 AM on TV, there was Ted Kennedy at the inauguration ... all smiles. I can't think of anything more heartwarming and gratifying than this ... that he lives to witness this moment.

Approval ratings reported on the news last night:
Bush - 22%
Cheney - 13%
Obama - 83%

If the Republicans try to sabotage this presidency, they run the risk of paying a HUGE political price.

If? They may appear to be cooperative on the surface, but there are many layers of scum on this pond and I'm sure the slanderous e-mails, bogus stories and the hate blogs will go on and will grow, but then, I don't know how to be anything but a pessimist. I've been one too long.

Still, it's good that I have lived to see at least a hiatus on our long journey toward oblivion.

It didn't feel real until I saw Bush get on that helicopter. I can hardly it's over and they didn't bomb Iran.

Yes, bomb Iran or pull an auto-coup. I think you need a minimal level of support for a coup, though.

Hooray for us Rocky.

That was the other thing DLB I was worried about. That he would declare martial law and decide not to leave. If the economy hadn't fallen apart, he may have done that. Now, I think he's probably glad to get out of town.
