Chris Christie pwned

This is most amusing story I've read in the last 24 hours. The Con's Con, "straight-talking" Chris Christie got pwned by the Obama administration.
It was, according to New Jersey’s governor, a $400 million mistake. The state was drenched in recriminations on Wednesday as Gov. Chris Christie said a clerical error by a midlevel official had caused the state to lose out on $400 million in federal school reform money — an error that caused its Race to the Top grant application to fall short of the 10-member winner’s circle by just three points. [...]

“That’s the stuff that drives people nuts about government, and that’s what the Obama administration should answer for,” he said. “When the president comes back to New Jersey, he is going to have to explain to the people of the state of New Jersey why he is depriving them of $400 million that this application earned them, because one of his Bureaucrats in Washington couldn’t pick up the phone and ask a question.”

Fortunately, "federal officials released a video on Thursday evening showing that Mr. Schundler and his administration had not provided the information when asked."

The video pretty much makes a liar out of Christie. Local Jersey pols quoted at the link say he won't survive. I doubt that. His fans won't care and corrupt politicians are a way of life there.

Still amusing though. First he harumped about being disappointed if he was misled. Ultimately he fired Schundler. Word has it Schundler wanted to get fired instead of resign, so he could collect unemployment. These people should be in jail for killing irony.

I suppose you have some proof that Christie actually lied. I'm sure that it's quite beyond the pale to assume, for example, that he DID check with Schundler's people and just got lied to.

Oh, you don't, eh?

Hmm. Well, I suppose there's always that unemployment chart clerical error to complain about, if you wanted to be fair and balanced. You know the chart -- the one where we were assured that unemployment would be at higher levels with the stimulus than without, and as it turns out we're actually higher than the highest "non-stimulus" point? That was a funny mix-up from the Obama administration. Certainly seems more mock-worthy than anything Christie has done. So, can we expect that post soon?

No, huh?

Oh, well. Enjoy your partisan hackery.

THink Christie lied based on lies from his staff that he didn't bother to verify before he shot his mouth off in public. As a governor he has a duty to ascertain the facts before he makes a public statement.

Tax cuts for people even richer than I am were absolutely positively going to Great massive amounts of new jobs and boost the economy even more than Clinton's horrible tax increases.

Blowing up Iraq was supposed to bring peace to the middle east. Iraq was supposed to have a nuclear program and chemical weapons. That was the truth.

Can't accuse that guy of lying, can we? Can't make jokes about how I told you so and y'all didn't listen and called me names.

No, but we get Dipshitides the shitweasel acting like Joan of Snark trying to turn the tables and blame it all on the whistleblowers. What an asshole.

Libby: Ah, I see. And you, of course, have PROOF that Christie didn't attempt to verify these facts. Right? Because if someone is misinformed but thinks they were correctly informed, than that person is not a liar. They are mistaken. For you to call him a liar fairly, you've got proof, right? Let's see it.

Captain: "Dipshitides"? Really, though. I'll just have to tell your fourth-grade teacher on you.

As to the rest of your amusing thoughts: Oh, yes, by all means, let's compare the Bush economy with the Obama economy. Hmm...looks like Bush wins, with an unemployment rate that's half the size. Yay!

"Blowing up Iraq was supposed to bring peace to the middle east." I think you mean "make the Middle East more stable." Which it has, so thanks for playing.

As for the weapons programs, where's the proof that Bush lied? Again, relying on faulty reports does not make one a liar. And if you indict Bush for that, you really also need to indict every single leader who said the same things -- like Bill Clinton, for example. Al Gore. John Kerry. I bet you're less willing to do that, though. 'Cause those guys didn't LIE, right? They were, like, mistaken. 'Cause they're Democrats, and only Republicans lie.

I'm sure my comment will be moderated out of existence, but it's been fun making you angry anyway. See you in November...

You're such a type! I sometimes imagine you trolls are all computer generated. You all fail because you all assume you know something about who you're arguing with and you inevitably assume wrongly that it's just another public school, 110 IQ middle management Peter Principle illustration like you -- but you're as innocent and stupid as the kids they strap bombs onto and send out to blow things up.

It's funny, because I talk about these things with people whose names you'd recognize if you weren't a Detroit nothing and they don't sound like the same species as you. I wonder why that is.

No, I don't have to give you no steeenking proof and if I shoved it up where you keep your hemorrhoids and your brain, you'd only squeal for more, wouldn't you?

If you're stupid enough, you'll think you can win an argument that way and if your stupider, you'll think you've already won and all those people must be laughing at someone else. It's a game you lost before you started Mr. Gump and no, I don't want to hear about your goddamn box of chocolates. It's all too clear what we got here.

And where's your proof I'm wrong? Show me da proooof, boss, da proof! Waaaah!

No, I'm afraid not ol' Schlocrates or Playdough or whoever you think you are. Keep hanging your ass out the window and giggling so that all your trashy adolescent Budweiser drinking, unemployed friends can see. That's who you're addressing, right? The boys at the corner bar who know all about economics and history and, and, everything else on the Fox TV -- and how to clean fish and such.

If you think the Bush economy was healthy, perhaps you're not that healthy yourself, but you're such a dipshit it really doesn't matter. We've heard all that moronic crap from the same sources you've heard it from.

Proof, yes, of course. You don't have enough facts about Bush, so you want proof. Sorry, it's not my job to educate you and although you can educate a flea, it's still a flea and good for nothing but to irritate and carry diseases. Perhaps some day you'll find some proof that Bush's economic idiocies would cause a huge recession - just like I and virtually all the economists I know predicted years ago - while you're looking for a reason anyone like me should give a flying shit what you think about anything.

No, you won't see me in November, but maybe I'll post some nice pics from somewhere you can't afford. Keep on blowing hard, you uneducated, pretentious, pin head blowhard. You're not fooling anyone but the fools.

Some comments of yours that should ring your Irony Bell, which unfortunately seems to be inoperative:

"You're such a type!"

"You all fail because you all assume you know something about who you're arguing with..."

"...you're as innocent and stupid as the kids they strap bombs onto and send out to blow things up."

"It's funny, because I talk about these things with people whose names you'd recognize if you weren't a Detroit nothing..."

"Sorry, it's not my job to educate you and although you can educate a flea, it's still a flea and good for nothing but to irritate and carry diseases."

And that wasn't comprehensive. :) I did, in fact, show your response to several of my friends, who know very little about fishing and a hell of a lot about politics (and economics and history, too, come to think of it). You should be happy to know that you were well-received...brought the house down, in fact. Say, if crass and uninformed political punditry doesn't prove fruitful, you can always have a career as a stand-up comic for Republicans.

Oh Captain, dear Captain, how I'll enjoy coming back to this blog on the morning of November 3. Please don't disappoint me. I want some Grade-A, FDA-certified wingnuttery, lots of "OMG those raccist Repugnicunts haz screwwed us over" and "We must hold fast, my dear friends, and wrest control of the nation from Emperor Palin and Darth Beck."

I'd also like a side of hashbrowns. But I'll bring the hashbrowns if you bring the rest.

I love you, man. You're cute. :)

I thought you might be gay.

But once again, I'm sure you think you're special, and I agree, but if you think I give a damn if the idiots win again in November, think again. They usually do, but they never know they're idiots.

Like humor? OK, a guy kicks the bar door in and precedes to call everyone stupid drunks and demands that alcohol should be prohibited. He's surprised at the reaction and assumes these people are just stupid and impolite.

November 3rd? If that's Wednesday, I'll be at sea. I may be a simple minded and mannerless yachtsman, but I know enough to piss to the lee.

Live long and prosper and while you're at it, go fuck yourself.
